My aim, through the development of this instrument with all its specifications, was to create the Josseem family and to include a number of variable instruments, similar to the family of the violin which includes: the Violin, Viola, Cello and Contrabass. Hopefully, the importance of this beautiful instrument will be more acknowledged over time and bring added value.
The Development of Jozzeh Instrument
My attempt to develop the Iraqi instrument (Jozzeh) was after the examination of the well-known instrument that is always represented in the Iraqi playing and singing, in addition to my belief in the importance of the cultural development and the enhancement of all it’s aspects that contribute to this development. Moreover, this instrument represents the cultural expansion that grew from the roots of the Iraqi history. This attempt of development was based upon modern specifications that assist the player, composer and singer.
